How to Hard Reset Motorola Milestone with Several Step?

Motorola Milestone is Android smartphone with full qwerty keyboard. The keyboard is slide in the bottom of the LCD. Motorola Milestone have the specification bellow:

LCD 4.3 inchi
Processor 600 MHz Cortex-A8
Memory Internal 133 MB storage with 256 MB RAM
Camera 5 MP, autofocus, LED flash
Camera Resolution 2592 x 1944 pixels
Operating System Android OS, v2.1 (Eclair), upgradable to v2.2

How to Hard Reset to Factory Default Motorola Milestone :

Hard Reset Motorola Milestone with Software

This option can be done if we can run the Motorola Milestone as usual, it mean we can access the menu to go to setting optin, the easy way to hard reset Motorola Milestone is by presing :

Menu > Setting > Privacy > Factory Data Reset

This is the way to erase all data on Motorola Milestone, such as Google Account, Contact, SMS, application and it settings.

Hard Reset Motorola Milestone with Hardware Button

Another way to Hard Reset Motorola Milestone by using hardware button, this option can be done when we can not access the menu or the Motorola Milestone can not run properly. This is what we have to do :

# Step One – Find What is current Motorola Bootloader version by doing :

Remove the Battery for 10 seconds
Put The Battery at the position again
Open Qwerty Keyboard by open the LCD Slide
Press DPAD UP and POWER BUTTON together
After LCD light is on, than release the button, then we will see the Bootloader version at top of LCD.

The Bootloader will appear:

Bootloader 90.78
Bootloader bellow or before 90.78 (lower number)

# Step two – For Bootloader 90.78 (if lower than this number, skip to step three)

Remove the Battery for 10 seconds
Put The Battery at the position again
Open Qwerty Keyboard by open the LCD Slide
Press X button at keyboard and POWER BUTTON together
If Motorola Logo appear, Release the POWER BUTTON, wait until Triangle with Mark appear
Press VOLUME UP and CAMERA BUTTON to go to Menu at Bootloader
at Menu, use VOLUME UP or VOLUME DOWN to choose Wipe all user data
Confirm your choice and the Motorola Milestone will do the factory data reset with this hard reset metode

# Step Three – For Bootloader Before 90.78 (if Bootloader is exact 90.78, than use step two)

Remove the Battery for 10 seconds
Put The Battery at the position again
Open Qwerty Keyboard by open the LCD Slide
Press CAMERA BUTTON button at keyboard and POWER BUTTON together (camera button is at the side of Motorola Milestone body)
If Motorola Logo appear, Release the POWER BUTTON, wait until Triangle with Mark appear
Press VOLUME UP and CAMERA BUTTON to go to Menu at Bootloader
at Menu, use VOLUME UP or VOLUME DOWN to choose Wipe all user data
Confirm your choice and the Motorola Milestone will do the factory data reset with this hard reset metode

When will We Need to Factory Reset Motorola Milestone ?

Motorola Milestone need to be hard reset to factory default when we can not access anything at this phone, or the phone going so slow or some unusual problem happen at our Motorola Milestone. Please remember to always backup your data before doing Hard Reset. Some problem come with power button not function to turn on, or the keyboard can not use in the right way.
