How to Easily Master Format SONY XPERIA Z (C6603/C6602) with Safe Hard Reset ?

  it shows a red x on the sim card pic and another on network at the the top right side of the screen.

  what does it mean?

  • Hi, if the red X mark appear in Sony Xperia Z, it mean the card is not install or plug properly. First, you need to make sure the simcard is active or does not have problem, some user have problem with their simcard because wrong cut area to make it become micro-simcard. If you sure simcard is working properly, you need to try open the simcard tray at Sony Xperia Z, make sure the sim card inserted in the right positions.

  • Hi, soft reboot or restart is the process to turn off Sony Xperia Z without reinstall or format it, so all applications and important data still exist in our Sony Xperia Z. Soft Reset is safe to do, and recommended to gradually do for removed unnecessary temporary files or cache which sometime can make your Sony Xperia Z become problem.

    Hard reset is the same with doing format or reinstall clean Android operating system at our Sony Xperia Z, this step only recommended to do if our smartphone have problem or not working properly or not normal. Doing hard reset or master format will erase all important data in internal memory and also remove installed applications. So after doing hard reset, we will feel our Sony Xperia Z become new again and need to be setup from beginning, installing our favorite applications again from Google Play Store as well.

• Hi. I forgot my pattern lock on my Xperia c6603, I tried to hard reset it but when I connect it to the flash tool it says "Lock Code Detected" and tells me to go to unlockbootreloader.com to remove my lock but when I went there I did the steps, I put the secret code in my emergency calls but nothing happens,please help!   • Hi, there are also other alternative to hard reset your Sony Xperia Z C6603 using PC Companion applications. This step is also need to download and install PC Companion at our computer, after that follow the step to restore firmware at your Sony Xperia Z, this option also available to upgrade latest Android operating system version or firmware using internet connection. Restoring OS using PC Companion will reset all setting and data including locked security code.

• My Xperia has been turning itself off when ever it is engaged in any type of use without the charger being plugged into it. The battery indicator states that it is receiving no lose of power from the battery.
  I have a new battery on hand but would prefer to rule out any software issues first.

  This problem has become apparent after the latest software update.

  I would prefer a way of reinstalling the older style of OS system or possible changing to a new system if possible. I have done both soft resets as well as hard resets with no change in the current problem.

  • Hi, after doing upgrade the new firmware or new operating system, some Android smartphone has get problem. Usually this trouble happen beacuse the previous installed applications is not compatible 100% with new upgrade operating system. We can try to uninstall some of them, but the best way if we get some trouble after finish doing upgrade OS is try to perform hard reset.

    If you want to downgrade the OS, as far as we know, the Sony does not have release the old firmware to downgrade, because by default we can not downgrade with OTA (Over The Air). Only developer will have the steps for downgrade, not for public user because some wrong steps can make our Sony Xperia Z get problems.

    About the battery and charger, you can try to use old battery if available, see weather the phone still get the same problem or not. If you still get this problem, better to consult with authorize Sony service center.

• Hi .my xperia c6602 switched off itself while putting it to charge this morning and its still not switched on .tried pressing the power button,power +volume up button ,but nothing happened! Pls help ! Also I can't see the reset button near the micro Sim card slot. Help!!!! Its just 4 months old :(

  • Hi, try to see weather your Sony Xperia Z LED light turn on when you connect your phone to charger? You also need to make sure your charger are work properly. Please try to use other Android charger which have at least 1A or more current output. There are several possibility that make your Xperia Z can not turn on, the charger, the battery or the hardware. If one of these possibility happen, then you can not solve this problem with hard reset. Unfortunately your warranty still acceptable to fix because your Xperia Z still bellow 1 year old, therefore you can bring your phone to Sony authorize service center for further check.

• I have problem on xperia z after change radio band to USA band all my connection lost please every ones help me . I am in Papua niugini.thx for assistant

  • Hi, you could try to do hard reset to make all setting of your Sony Xperia Z back to factory default, and hopefully you can use your phone again with default radio band of Papua Niugini.

• I dropped my Sony Xperia C2305 in water that contained menthol crystals.the touch is now unresponsive ,there's a warning sign at the top of the screen and a blue light flashes .I can't switch it off either

  • Hi, by specification Sony Xperia Z only waterproof, but we never know weather it also can proof from menthol crystal liquid water. Please be careful, although in the water, some port should be close properly with its cover, otherwise the phone also will damage or get trouble. For your problem, you should try to get further check from Sony authorize service center.

  • Hi, have you already try to use PC Companion which is installed at your Microsoft Windows computer PC ? This is maybe the last solutions that you can try to make sure your phone still can be self repair or not. If PC Companion also does not work, then maybe the problem comes at your hardware and this problem need to consult at Sony authorize service center.

  • Hi, first your need to make sure the charger is working properly. You can try to charge with different Android charger with minimum 1mA output charger, wait about 30 minutes and try to turn it ON. If your Sony Xperia Z still can not turn ON, then you need to try doing hard reset or master format with hardware button. You can also doing hard reset using PC Companion like steps at #Option 3 above.
